It's been a tough couple of weeks for Jersey Shore foodies as three popular restaurants have closed their doors.

Word on the Shore reports that sushi restaurant Sawa at Pier Village in Long Branch closed on September 30th, with an as-yet-unknown restaurant replacing it soon.

It is unclear if Sawa's sister restaurant in Eatontown is still open.

Also closed this week are FISH Urban Dining and Cibo e Vino, neighboring restaurants on Mattison Ave. in Asbury Park.

The Asbury Park Sun reports a staff meeting was called for FISH and Cibo e Vino employees at 2 p.m. on Monday, where they were told the restaurants would be closing immediately.

Both restaurants have shut down their social media pages and websites.

While I feel the quality at Sawa had diminished in recent years, I was a fan of both FISH and Cibo e Vino. Those two closures are certainly a big loss for the Jersey Shore food scene, and I hope they are able to reopen elsewhere.

Bummer!
