Have you ever gone on vacation and said, “that’s it, we’re moving.  I'm just not going home".  We’ve all felt that way at one time or another, but with this gorgeous little town’s offer, you can actually do it.  What I’m about to tell you seems too good to be true, but I looked into it and it's the real deal.  There's a town in Italy willing to pay you 30K to move there.

There is a gorgeous, quaint little town in Italy that boasts Mediterranean views, white marble streets, and stunning architecture that is offering to pay you 30 thousand dollars to move there.

The town is called Presicce and it is located in Puglia and it is so stunning I can’t understand why they are offering this incentive.  What’s the catch?  You have to commit to buying an empty house and live there permanently.  Twist my arm.

So why are they doing this?  It turns out this small town’s younger population moved away to seek greater job opportunities and as the elders pass away, the town is becoming empty.  It is so poetically beautiful, that the government wants to fill the town with young and thriving families that will make this place their home for generations.  They hope to have businesses open and for the town to generate opportunities of it's own.

Here’s my mindset, we all learned how to work from home during COVID.  If you are one of these people who can do their jobs from anywhere why not move to paradise to do it?  This is the first time in history that our career opportunities don’t have to be where we live.  This my friends is an epic opportunity.

Or, maybe you are ready to retire and you are not looking for a career move at all.  You’ve made your money so it is now all about loving live and soaking in the beauty, then this is perfect. Trust me, you’ll get plenty of visitors. Can't you just imagine walking to the market with your basket to get that day's produce?

Not only will officials grant you $30,000 to offset the expense of buying a home (or you can elect to use that grant for improvements), the real estate is ridiculously inexpensive compared to New Jersey standards. One of these villas starts at only twenty-six thousand dollars.  So if you are doing the math, if you buy an entry-level place, they are actually paying you four thousand dollars to move there.

The program is called “Welcome to Presicce-Acquarica”.  Do they have to be totally renovated?  Yes.  Is that a problem?  Absolutely not.  Don’t you want to make it your own anyway?

Local councilor for Presicce-Acquarica told CNN,

“It is a pity witnessing how our old districts full of history, wonderful architecture, and art are slowly emptying.”

The only problem I can see with this place (and the real reason that there was a mass exodus in the first place) was because of a lack of job opportunities.  Well, necessity is the mother of invention so as long as we can get a fast and reliable internet connection there what's the problem?  Maybe you want to start a business there, well, they're offering incentives for that too.

The town still has a population of around 10K people and they are also offering couples a thousand dollars for every baby born to help keep this town populated.  You can read more about it from CNN here.
