TOMS RIVER – A mother duck received the best present for Mother’s Day after her babies got into a little bit of a pickle.

Officers from the Toms River Police Department responded to a call that several ducklings were in distress on Friday evening near Aberdeen Lane.

When officers arrived they found several ducklings trapped in a storm drain.

A new Class II Officer, Officer Molhem, climbed into the storm drain to save them.

He was assisted by Officer MacDonald and Sergeant Diehl.

All of the ducklings were reunited with their mother.

It is unclear if the mother duck was written a ticket for trespassing.

All persons ducks are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
