Well that's not what you wanna hear.

We all know that fast food is not exactly the best food choice we can make health-wise but now there is another layer added to this.

According to NYPost.com, it has just been revealed, "that toxic chemicals may be coating the wrappers and containers used at popular fast-food restaurants according to a report titled, 'Packaged in Pollution: Are food chains using PFAS in packaging?' that was just released Thursday by environmental advocacy groups Toxic-Free Future and Mind the Store."

I'm not going to lie to you.... the test results are scary.

There were toxic levels of PFAS substances.

What are those? It's okay I didn't know either....

According to NYPost.com, PFAS are, "a group of man-made chemicals composed of non-biodegradable linked carbon and flourine atoms founding in the packaging."

These chemicals were found in the packaging for the Whopper, chicken nuggets and cookies at Burger King.

And at McDonald's, harmful chemicals were found in the packaging for the Big Mac sandwich, fries and cookies.

And it doesn't matter what you get at Wendy's because these chemicals were discovered on their paper bags.....yes, the ones that they put EVERY SINGLE ORDER IN.

These chemicals were even discovered on "environmentally friendly" containers as well as other bowls and to-go boxes used in restaurants such as Sweetgreen, Freshil and Cava.

So now that these findings have been discovered, everyone is looking to get anything with these chemicals removed.

“We are looking forward to extending our safe ingredients policy to include the removal of the short-term PFAS recently identified by the FDA," said a Burger King spokesperson. "We will work with our suppliers to remove them from all packaging by or, where feasible, earlier than the three years recommended by the FDA.”

“We know there is more progress to be made across the industry and we are exploring opportunities with our supplier partners to go further,” McDonald’s said in a statement.

So I would suggest, for the time being at least, to put the Big Mac down and choose to have something else for lunch.

It really makes you wonder....what else is in our everyday lives that is super unhealthy? I'm almost scared to find out.
