We all have that one light that we never seem to make. Well, there is a light in Brick that I have never made. I mean never.

Let me start by saying I've never been a fan of the timing of the traffic lights in Brick. It always seems that no matter which way I'm going, the lights are working against me. Maybe it's my fault because I'm always in a hurry. Who isn't, right?

Or maybe it's just because there is such a huge volume of cars trying too get where they're going all at once and all the time, day or night, and the lights just don't have a chance.

Or maybe there really needs to be an update on these lights to match the traffic flow better. I'm no traffic engineer, so my thought on that certainly does not fall into the 'expert' category, but I do drive in Brick a lot, so I do have some knowledge of the situation.

And even though there are a ton of Brick traffic lights that drive so many of us crazy, the light that I have never made is the light  is the one at Route 70 and Burnt Tavern Rd, when I'm on Burnt Tavern heading toward the Parkway.

Sometimes I hit this light at 4:30 in the morning and I will literally sit there at that red light for 3 minutes and not see another car in any direction the whole time. And it's not just early in the morning.

I can't make that light any time of the day or night no matter how hard I try, and if you've driven there you know it's a long straightaway to get to the light, so there are plenty of times I can see it turn green for about 15 seconds and go red again before I even get there.

I don't think I'm exaggerating, and I'm not blaming anybody. I'm just a frustrated Jersey Shore driver who is trying to get where I'm going, and sometimes Brick lights don't make that easy. But I still love you Brick!
