Two Ocean Township (Monmouth County) men are hospitalized with burn injuries after one of them poured gasoline into a fire pit as they were in the process of starting the fire on Thursday.

The gasoline then exploded inside the fire put burning both of the men with one of them suffering major burns to his hands, face and chest and was airlifted to the burn center at Saint Barnabas in Livingston.

The second man sustained minor injuries and was transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center.

Police in Ocean Township responded to a wooded area around 6:30 pm near Fairway lane and Weston Ave where they found the two 18-year olds.
