Two men from Trenton who were allegedly taking part in a drug deal in Manchester are facing charges in Ocean County but are wanted men in Mercer and Camden counties.

Members of the Narcotics Enforcement Team (NET) observed a vehicle in the area of the Quick Chek on Route 571 March 7 and a short time later, the vehicle was seen in an adjacent parking lot prior to being stopped on Route 70.

An investigation was conducted with resulted in the officers searching the vehicle and its two occupants.

Their search yielded about 150 bags of heroin, an undisclosed amount of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

In total, the drugs had a street value of over $1,000.00.

The driver, 32-year old Dwayne Reddon was charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Paraphernalia, Loitering to Distribute CDS, Hindering Evidence by Concealment, Obstructing an Investigation and Hindering by Providing False Information.

The passenger, 25-year old Edward Higginbotham was charged with one count each of Possession and Possession with Intent to Distribute Heroin, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Hindering Evidence by Concealment, and Loitering to Distribute CDS.

Reddon and Higginbotham also had several outstanding warrants out of Mercer and Camden Counties.

They were both released on summonses for the criminal charges and released on their own recognizance for the outstanding warrants.

The Manchester Township Police K9 Unit assisted in this investigation.
