Unpopular Jersey Shore Opinion: Which Thanksgiving Dish is Better than Turkey?
This Thanksgiving pass a different kind of gravy.
Get ready for an unpopular opinion: I do not like turkey. And before you tell me it's only because I'm a vegetarian, I'll let you know that I never liked it even before I gave up meat.
That being said, whether you're a meat-eater or not, I think there's one dish (that's a favorite here at the Jersey Shore) that we all should be eating instead of turkey on Thanksgiving.
Pasta.
Don't believe me? Here are 5 reasons why pasta is way better than turkey.
1. It doesn't make you sleepy
Okay, even though some studies are saying that turkey doesn't exactly make you sleepy, it still contains tryptophan, and pasta does not. In fact, what do runners load up on before a big race? Pasta. It's a no-brainer.
2. There are different ways to eat it
Marinara sauce? Cool. Alfredo sauce? Awesome. Plain with butter? Special Thanksgiving butternut squash ravioli? Do it up. There are so many more ways to eat pasta than there are to eat turkey.
3. It doesn't take nearly as long to cook pasta as it does to cook Turkey
I've never cooked a turkey before, but I hear there's a bunch of thawing and cooking instructions that go with it. To cook pasta: boil water, throw in the pasta. Call it a day.
4. Stores probably won't sell out of pasta for Thanksgiving
I've heard of stores running out of turkeys before Thanksgiving, but have never heard of them running out of pasta.
5. It's less expensive
You can use all the money you'll save from buying turkey on buying Christmas gifts.
