Saturday's high temperature is expected to be in the mid-30s, but that's not going to stop a huge group of people from hitting the beach for a good cause!

The 9th annual Valentine Plunge returns to Manasquan's Main Beach at noon, when hundreds of people will run into the freezing cold ocean water.

It's a fundraiser for the Joan Dancy and PALS (People with ALS) Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization that serves ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) patients and their families in Monmouth and Ocean counties. Money will also go to staytough.fighthard., an ALS awareness and advocacy group.

You can still register for the plunge, but you must raise at least $100 in order to participate.

I helped out at the Valentine Plunge last year (I'm too chicken to go in the water) but it's really an inspiring and amazing event, and I'm glad I can be there again this year.

Even if you just come out to support the Plungers, or make a donation of any size, know that it's helping people right here at the Jersey Shore. More than $150,000 has already been raised, but it would be awesome to break the $200,000 mark!

So many people did the ALS ice bucket challenge last year...this is the ultimate challenge -- jump in and feel the love! Hope to see you on Saturday!
