New Jersey American Water is asking Monmouth County residents to voluntarily adopt odd/evening watering.

It is the hope of New Jersey American Water that if residents begin watering with the odd/even approach voluntarily now, it will help avoid "more stringent summertime water usage", according to their website.

They also recommend you water early or late in the day to help minimize evaporation. They suggest the best times of the day to water are between 6:00am and 9:00am and from 5:00pm to 8:00pm.

There are also additional tips provided that may help conserve water as the watering season approaches at the Jersey Shore and you can find them at the New Jersey American Water website.

Let's all do our part now to avoid tougher restrictions this summer.
