One thing we know about Jersey Shore weather is that it doesn't always turn out the way we expect it to or the way it has turned out in years past.

But now that a mostly disappointing (except for the amazing end of the month) is behind us. Let's look ahead to the month that will bring the official start of summer to the Jersey Shore.

What can we expect from June? Well, our meteorologist Dan Zarrow did a little research and here are some June weather numbers, according to the Long Branch weather station. Normal highs at the beginning of the month will be 73 degrees but will jump 8 degrees by the end of the month. Overnight lows will rise from 56 degrees on the 1st to 64 degrees on the 30th.

We all know that we had our share of May rain, so how much is the average rainfall for the month of June? It is 3.25", which doesn't sound like a lot. So if those things happen, it looks like we're gearing up for a good June and a great start to summer.
