Wiz Khalifa Arrested At LAX For Riding His Hoverboard
In Back to the Future Part II, Marty McFly rides a radical hover-board in the year 2015—a.k.a. this year. And it looks like the prediction of this particular technology wasn't just a cinematic fluke, as functioning hover-boards are very much a real product being used these days, particularly within the hip-hop community. Unfortunately, not everyone is down with the hovering, least of all the Los Angeles Police Department.
On Saturday evening, Wiz Khalifa was arrested, quite roughly it seems, by a swarm of border patrol agents and LAPD officers at LAX (Los Angeles International Airport) for allegedly refusing to disembark from a hover-board that he was gliding around the airport on. Photos and video footage of the incident paint a picture that the 27-year-old rapper didn't resist the arrest, but rather calmly debated with the officers as to why exactly he was being confronted.
“This? I didn’t do nothing, anyway. What you want to do? Put me in jail because I didn’t listen to what you say?” the rapper asks the cops, audible in he video below. “We can have all the conversations you want to, you can end up on TMZ, destined to become as famous as you wanna be.”
Further photos and video of the arrest (above) show the officers on top of Khalifa, on the ground, cuffing the "See You Again" rapper and yelling, "Stop resisting!" while the artist remains still and calmly replies, "I'm not resisting, sir." So far, it's unclear as to what transpired between Khalifa's discussion with the officers and the moment in which he is seen being handcuffed and detained.
Afterwards, Wiz took to Twitter to say this of the incident: “I stand for our generation and our generation is gonna be riding hover boards so if you don’t like it eat a dick!" Wiz Khalifa—the Marty McFly of our generation!
