With the end of summer looming and the seasonal clock ticking, the importance of every party and every get together and every sunset grows. We want to soak in each summery minute here at the Jersey Shore and part of that is always choosing a great adult beverage to go along with it.

We have had the great privilege of getting some help in that category this summer from the amazing folks at Shop Rite Wines an Liquors at King’s Common in Middletown. This place is huge and amazing, with a selection that will knock your socks off.

It’s one of the most beautiful establishments you’ll ever see with everything from IPAs to rose.

The manager at Shop Rite Wines and Liquors of King’s Common, Donnie Woodham agreed to choose a great weekly cocktail selection, and here is the choice for this week. It’s Penelope Bourbon, and here’s what Donnie had to say about it.

Award winning bourbon company with a home base here in NJ. Light flavorful taste for the rookie or the bourbon connoisseurs. They also do not break the bank.

They have barrel strength, toasted series, four grain, and more surprises coming soon. Ratings from 89-93 by the so called experts. One of my top 5’s.

That's some high praise, and who could go wrong with a bourbon that calls New Jersey home. It sounds like it would be great to have a bottle or two around the house, and it also would make a great gift, or a nice bottle to present to the host of your next summer barbecue or gathering.

Shop Rite Wines and Spirits of King's Common is located at 1500 Highway 35 in Middletown, and they're open Saturday thru Sunday 9:00am to 9:00pm.
