Every corner of the Jersey Shore has amazing history behind it, and Jenkinson's Boardwalk is no exception.

We thought we'd dig into that history to present 3 things you might not know about Jenkinson's, according to the Jenkinson's website,  as Liz and I broadcast live this morning.

The reason. When Charles Jenkinson got sick of restrictions imposed on his soda fountains in Ocean Grove and Asbury Park in the mid 20's he bought some property in Point Pleasant Beach.

The beginning. When Jenkinson's Pavilion opened in 1928 it was a soda fountain, candy shop as well as a refreshment stand right on the beach.

A change. The business stayed in the Jenkinson family until it was purchased by a man whose family had owned a Point Pleasant Beach summer home since the 40's,  Pasquale “Pat” Storino in the late 70's.

Now, of course is one of the top summer destinations in the area and has been responsible for countless great family memories over the years. Come out today and make some of your own great summer memories!
