If you are waiting 'til Black Friday or Cyber Monday to start your Christmas shopping, you are way behind!

Based on studies from last year's holiday shopping trends, here are five 2015 holiday shopping trends.

1. The thought of one big day to shop for the holidays, meaning Black Friday or Cyber Monday, is getting old. In fact, 48% of people have already begun holiday shopping -- way before the traditional Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

2. More people are researching gift ideas online (78%) rather than relying on friends and family for gift ideas (29%). And 40% of holiday shopping is now done online.

3. Lots of money will be spent via tapping on smartphones and tablets, including big-ticket items. Last year, a trillion dollars (27%) in sales were decided upon by online searches. And 53% of those who shopped online didn't even use a computer or laptop. They used smartphones or tablets.

4.Over one-half of holiday shoppers are NOT necessarily staying loyal to their favorite brands, but are instead open to buying from new retailers.

5. 80% of holiday shoppers will likely check out You Tube for reviews and ratings, but are not depending as much on what 'the experts' have to say before making a purchase. Instead, 68% prefer video reviews from 'people like them' rather than 'experts'.
