Huge 7-Eleven Tradition Returns To New Jersey After Two Year Hiatus
Over two years later, we are still in the process of returning to "normal" after that blasphemous COVID-19 Pandemic.
One specific tradition is about to return for the first time in over TWO YEARS!
According to NJ.com, 7-Eleven has announced the return of Bring Your Own Cup Day!
If this day is new to you, the premise is simple.
For one day only, Stripes, 7-Eleven and Speedway locations allow you to bring your own cup to fill with any flavor (or flavors) of Slurpee your heart desires.
It will cost you $1.99 no matter how big or small your cup is so maybe bring in an entire cabinet to get your money's worth.
There are some solid Slurpee flavors to choose from: Cherry, Blue Raspberry, Coca Cola, Pina Colada and for a limited time, Mango Lemonade. (My intuition tells me to add a bit of rum to that last flavor for quite a treat...just sayin...)
“We know that Slurpee drinks are a summertime staple for customers, so we’re bringing back BYOC Day to celebrate the popular frozen beverage for a second time this summer following a very successful Slurpee Day,” said Dennis Phelps, 7-Eleven proprietary beverages senior product director according to NJ.com.
The special day is set for this Saturday, August 27th!
It is not difficult to see why this type of celebration would be postponed during the peak of COVID-19.
