Maybe you can't have an inside cat because you have a family member with allergies. Or your landlord won't let you have an inside pet. Or maybe you have 'critters' in your yard that you could use a little help with. Here's an alternative way to help save a life!

Backyard Buddies is a program from the Monmouth County SPCA and Homeward Bound Adoption Center for those with backyards who can feed and nurture an outside cat.

You'll be saving a life and, at the same time, controling your rodent population with a healthy outside cat.

These are cats that the Monmouth County SPCA has rescued, but they are clearly outside cats that wouldn't feel comfortable being kept inside all the time.

So although they can't be inside family pets, these special outdoor cats thrive in an outdoor environment (with a shelter or occasional trip inside for some) such as a backyard, office complex, warehouse, farm, horse stable, or wharf.

The Monmouth County SPCA provides each cat with a spay/neuter, microchip, flea/tick preventative along with vaccination against rabies and distemper.

Assistance will be provided during the relocation process between the Monmouth County SPCA and your yard space.

Your responsibilities? Providing daily food and water. In return, these outdoor cats will chase away those annoying pests!

There is no cost to you for this service, and the reward of saving a life is priceless!
