Bomb Threats Force Evacuation of Two Universities
As if parents of college students didn't have enough to worry about while they are away at school, today's news is beyond frightening.
Bomb threats were called into University of Texas at Austin and North Dakota State University.
The caller to UT is described as having a Middle Eastern accent, with possible ties to al-Qaeda.
The campus of about 75,000 students and staff were told to evacuate at around 9:30 a.m. this morning, about an hour after the call first came in.
There is less information available about the NDSU bomb threat, which forced the evacuation of 20,000 students and staff.
No bombs have been found yet on either campus, with UT given the all clear.
With lots of former local students at colleges across the country, and schools like Monmouth University right in our backyard, this is definitely something that hits close to home.
I'm actually headed to Penn State after work today...this has me a little on edge.
