A man from the Bronx, New York who has been wanted since May of 2021 for attempted murder in East Brunswick, New Jersey has been found and arrested.

East Brunswick Police announced the arrest Monday of 28-year old Sorel Thomas who fired shots at another man following a car crash near the North Lake Apartment Complex on Main Street last May 2.

The two had quarreled prior to the shots but after they were fired, Thomas fled the area before police arrived on the scene around 5:40 am.

East Brunswick Police Detective Alex Danese ran point on the investigation and after identifying Sorel Thomas as the suspect, provided that intel to Detectives with NYPD.

Then, on February 10, 2022, a break in the case happened.

NYPD Detectives contacted East Brunswick Police Detective Danese and informed him, they'd arrested Sorel Thomas.

Following the arrest, Thomas was brought to East Brunswick Police Headquarters, where he was processed for Attempted Murder, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.

When the processing was over, Thomas was brought to the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center.
