Beware New Jersey: You Could Have Infected Batch of Candy Corn

According to NJ.com, there is a recall for candy corn because infected batches might contain an undeclared allergen.

Usually, candy corns do not contain eggs.

The infected packages - which I will give you specifics on in a second - contains undeclared eggs.

This means that if someone who is allergic to eggs unknowingly eats from one of the infected bundles, it could result in a life-threatening allergic reaction.

Scary, right?

According to NJ.com, the recall is for the 15-ounce packages, "with the UPC code 018586001144 and a March 8, 2023 best by date."

If you have a faulty batch, bring it back to where you bought it and give Arcade Snacks, the company who makes candy corn, a call at 1 (508) 832-6300.

Here's the thing. These faulty products may have been sent to New Jersey.

Arcade Snacks is based in Massachusetts and that seems to be where a majority of these faulty candies were sent.

According to NJ.com, the faulty candy corns were sent to the following places:

• Johnson Roadside Farm Market in Swansea, Massachusetts
• Donelan’s Supermarkets in Massachusetts
• Fieldstone Farm Market in Marion, Massachusetts
• Foodies in Massachusetts
• Windfall Market in Falmouth, Massachusetts
• Highland Park Market in Glastonbury, Connecticut

New Jersey is not on the list but a massive amount of candy corn is eaten every Halloween season. (Ew)

I have a feeling that this alert is being spread far and wide out of caution.

The chances are slim but imagine they didn't say anything and some of these batches did end up in New Jersey stores!?
