It's been amazing to see people in our community step up and help Sandy victims have a better holiday season.

One local woman is planning another great event.

Stephanie Salardino put together a Thanksgiving dinner for displaced families, and is planning another one for Christmas.

It will take place on Sunday, December 23 at the Point Pleasant Beach Elks Lodge (820 Arnold Ave.) from 4-8 p.m.

She once again got support from local restaurants like Surf Taco, Longboard Grill, and Hoffman's Ice Cream among others. In addition to dinner, they'll have fun stuff for the kids, like balloon animals, face painting, and a cookie decorating table.

Any families or individuals displaced by Sandy are welcome, as are members of the National Guard, and others serving our area.

Stephanie says they have plenty of volunteers, but if you have any questions, you can call her at 908-420-8954.

Another amazing way locals are helping locals as we restore the shore!
