Townsquare Media and the Jay & Linda Grunin Foundation are teaming up to salute our local heroes with our Warrior of the Week program.

Congratulations to Daniel Anderson, Jr., Our Warrior of the Week for the week of February 5, 2018.

From the words of Daniel's nominator:

Daniel W. Anderson, Jr. served his country in the U.S. Army as a SPC 5 air traffic controller in the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam. Daniel lived the life of a true warrior before succumbing to ALS and passing away from the Lou Gehrig’s disease this past September at age 67. Not only did Daniel serve in the United States Military, but he fought through life for all that was good and righteous. In efforts to make continuous positive impacts on society, Daniel served as a Boy Scout leader, Little League coach, Red Cross volunteer for Hurricane Wilma, President of Fox Chase Association, and chief, treasurer, and 18-year member of Deal Fire Department. Personal battles with cancer, heart, and back failure never deterred Daniel from determinedly performing his military and humanitarian duties. So many lives benefited from this one true warrior.

Congratulations to Daniel Anderson, Jr., our Warrior of the Week.

Do you know a deserving past or present military member? Nominate them now. Every Military Monday, we’ll share one of the nominations and honor that person as our Warrior of the Week.
