Container Hoarder

Do you save plastic containers like I do? My son thinks I am hoarding them!

You never know when you're going to need a container. And it would be a shame to throw out perfectly good containers with perfectly good lids like the ones you get when you get take-out Chinese food.

So...I have devoted two big shelves in my biggest kitchen cabinet to these containers. I must have around 40 of them. And I don't stack them...I keep each container in tact, with the lid ON. I know this takes up extra space, but there is nothing worse to me than pulling out a container and having to search for a lid that fits it.

The other day when Benj was emptying the dishwasher and putting everything away, he opened this cabinet and there was a bit of an avalanche...plastic containers came tumbling onto his head and then onto the floor. At which point he decided an intervention was necessary.

He asked me just how many containers I need, and if maybe it was time to get rid of some.

But they are all different shapes and sizes and sometimes I have a lot of leftovers or food to freeze...and I'm just not ready to part with them yet!
