You can add another obstacle to the list on your ride to work this morning. The National Weather Service has issued a Dense Fog Advisory for our area.

The Dense Fog advisory is in effect for our area until 9:00am and here are some of the details. Visibility at times will be a quarter mile or less and you are being advised to use your headlights.

The worst of the fog will be right along the coast, according to our meteorologist Dan Zarrow, who says that we are also in for some heavy thunderstorms in the area as well today.

Dan says we have a shot at scattered heavy rain, wind and thunder for the late afternoon hours today, which isn't great for some drivers trying to get home, but should bring some relief to those suffering from allergies due to the high tree pollen levels we've been dealing with.

It's been a great run of weather for the jersey Shore lately, but it looks like that streak comes to an end today. Check out Dan Zarrow's weather blog to stay up to date on today's weather, and an early look at weekend weather as well.
