Summer, and beach season is just around the corner here at the Jersey Shore, and undoubtedly you are doing some form of working out to get ready for the beach, but before you do, here are some mistakes you don't want to make.

According to the experts in an msn.com report, watch what you eat before your workout. avoid bars with a lot of sugar. Best bet before a workout..a whey protein shake.

Another hint is to try avoiding static stretching befor doing your workout. Some research finds that it can lower your strength by up to 8%. Static stretching is when you bend and hold, according to the article.

Another mistake a lot of people make is doing the same workout over and over again. Experts say change it up every 4 to 6 weeks.  Believe it or not, your body actually gets used to the workouts and that, of course, lowers the effectiveness of the workout.
