There will be a DWI checkpoint in Belmar this Saturday (10/27)!

Officials did not specify the precise time or location of the checkpoint, but only explained that the drivers will be screened for intoxication.

"Troopers will be looking for signs of impairment due to alcohol or drugs," said the announcement from New Jersey State Police. "If you plan on drinking, have a designated driver, arrange for transportation or stay where you are. It's not worth the risk of hurting or killing yourself, a friend, a loved one, or an innocent motorist."

I could not agree more! Now with Uber and Lyft, there really is zero excuse to get behind the wheel even slightly impaired.

Plus, if you see someone that you think is "posing a hazard because of poor driving behaviors," dial #77 to contact the aggressive driver tip line. If you do call, be ready to describe the car and occupants in question, the location, direction they were headed, and license plate numbers.
