Great Lunch Spot in Colts Neck

Have you ever stopped here for a delicious lunch?

I have come to D.O. many times to shop, but never for lunch.

Until now. I drive my 15-year old to and from Brookdale Community College (he is earning his college credits while he's young) and I am NOT impressed with the options for a healthy lunch on or near the Lincroft campus (without going all the way into Red Bank).

We finally decided to stop at the Cider Cafe at Delicious Orchards and were astounded at the numerous fresh, organic, and healthy options for a good quality lunch, including juiced  drinks and smoothies.

Their cafe has a really pretty atmosphere. In the nicer weather there is a lot of outdoor seating, too, overlooking those apple trees.

I had one of the best salads ever, with the freshest grilled chicken (minus the preservatives you find in pre-made salads), and Benj loved his sandwich. We enjoyed our smoothies, too, and I will be back for some of the green juices where you choose your own combo of veggies and fruit.

And it never hurts to have lunch in a place where you can also pick up some groceries. I am hard-pressed to think of a food store that has better looking, fresher produce than D.O. Not to mention their amazing PIES, donuts, and other baked goods!

And in apple season...well, of course this is the place!

I am a fan.

P.S. They stay open until 6 pm most nights so you could also stop by for an early dinner to stay or go from their cafe and sandwich shop.
