Thank You To One Of The Hardest Working Elementary School Chefs In Ocean County, NJ
In case you didn't know, Townsquare Media Jersey Shore operates 94.3 The Point, 92.7 WOBM, Beach Radio 104.1 FM, 105.7 The Hawk, and Shore Sports Network. I host "Nights with Jimmy G" on 94.3 The Point, but I also enjoy taking on other responsibilities. I am thrilled to once again be publishing "Hawk Heroes". Every month on 105.7 The Hawk highlight a local Jersey Shore hero. Thanks to our friends at Sonny’s Recycling we pick one winner, share their story online and award them a $100 Visa cash card.

This month we are highlighting Maryanna Fasy from Little Egg Harbor:
Maryanna Fasy is the cook at the George J. Mitchell Elementary School. Last summer, during the pandemic, she spent many hours feeding all the children up to 18 years old in our surrounding towns with free food. She is always trying to make sure all the children are fed, and she works so hard even skipping her breaks at work to do so. She runs the George J. Mitchell elementary school kitchen and makes every new situation work. It has been a rough change due to covid, but that woman can and will make the best of it. She never misses a day of work, and she is all about filling the bellies of children and even adults with great-tasting food. I think she is an amazing hard working woman that everyone needs to know about since she is mostly in the back scenes where people really don't see what she is doing.
Maryanna is a true HAWK HERO and all of us at Townsquare Media can't thank her enough for her hard work. It takes a special person to feed hundreds of kids on a daily basis. Her patience, selflessness, and dedication are unmatched. 'Thank You' Maryanna and I wish you the best moving forward!
