I am always a fan of new restaurants. You get to sit down to relax while trying new food. Who doesn't enjoy that?

The owners of the Hazlet Town Center -- which is owned by Onyx Equities-- are looking to create a "restaurant row" along the front end of the shopping center....YIPPEEEE!

"Our vision is to basically turn that into a restaurant row of between four and five .. food and beverage concepts," said vp of asset management of Onyx Equities, Matthew P. Flath said. "We just saw the opportunity to take that very well located shopping center … and bring in newer, more exciting brands that generate much more traffic" to the center.

BRING. IT. ON.

Here is what is planned so far: The shopping center will be building a Panera Bread with a drive-thru window and a Wawa store with a fuel station. Both are expected to open by the end of 2020.

There is currently a Burlington and an Aldi in the plaza. Plus, Planet Fitness will soon open in the shopping center over the next few months.

But I am sure EVEN MORE retailers and restaurants are to come.

"There's a pretty broad group of retailers we see fitting into the space and benefiting from all the traffic generated by Aldi, by Burlington and the future traffic to be generated by Panera and Wawa," said Flath.

One of their tactics to make sure this happens is to divide the retailer spaces into smaller, more affordable locations that retailers will hopefully flock to. Makes sense. Life is expensive.

The major makeover will also include a new pylon sign, parking lot improvements, landscaping and facade upgrades.
