Heavy rain and strong winds have started the work week at the Jersey Shore along with scattered power outages in Monmouth & Ocean Counties.

Heavy rain and strong winds throughout the overnight hours have caused scattered power outages in both Monmouth & Ocean Counties. Nearly 2500 outages have been reported by JCP&L in New Jersey.

There are outages reported as far north in Monmouth as Hazlet, and as far south in Ocean as Brick, and there are more bands of heavy rain on the way throughout the morning which could include gusts up to 40mph.

There is also a Coastal Flood Warning for this mrning's high tide which could result in moderate flooding. Our Meteorologist Dan Zarrow says things will calm down by this afternoon with calming winds and clearing skies.

So, just when you thought you could sit back and enjoy some spring weather, here we go again with some miserable weather stuff to deal with. But Dan does say we get back into the 60's by tomorrow with sunshine returning on Wednesday.

Always stay up to date with the latest weather with Dan Zarrow's latest weather blog.
