Umberto's has been closed since around the time of the pandemic, and now we know what will replace it..

Have you heard of Jack's Goal Line Stand? It's a sports bar in Long Branch owned and operated by Tim (a former Monmouth University football player) and Nick. Located on Brighton Avenue in a building that, back in the day, was a hostel followed by a steak house, Tim and Nick worked there as bartenders before taking over and turning that college dive bar into Jack's.

And now they are opening a second location in Fair Haven, but it will look a little different.

The Long Branch location of Jack's is a great sports bar with lots of TVs and and some amazing ribs and wings. But it's more than just 'bar food' and pizza (theirs is great, btw). and now they are serving more sophisticated dishes. (Last week they had a delicious fall soup on the menu -- Chicken Tortilla Soup, Mexican-style!)

The Long Branch location has several bar areas and a back room with arcade games, plus over 60 beers on tap -- the largest selection of draft beers at the Jersey Shore!

The new location in Fair Haven will be all the fun, without the bars. So this will be geared more toward families. There are so many great dishes that will be on the menu!

PS... Last year the original Jack's Jack's Goal Line Stand was named Best Sports Bar in NJ!

I hope that opening a restaurant/bar during a pandemic isn't too much of a challenge, because I love to see new, local businesses thrive, so let's send the new tenants some love!

No word yet on when they will open this location.
