Hobbymasters in Red Bank Closing After 45 Years
It's been a great run, but the owner of a Red Bank mainstay in closing up shop as soon as March.
Arlene Placer, owner of Hobbymasters told NJ Advanced Media that she is shutting down her hobby shop on White Street in late March.
Founded in 1975, Hobbymasters dubbed itself one of the country’s largest and oldest hobby stores. There aren't many true hobby shops still around. I'm talking about the places where you walk in and you're immediately surrounded by puzzles, toys, model trains, etc.
A true sign of a solid local business, it was noted on Hobbymasters' Facebook that many employees have been with the store for 20-plus years!
According to a Facebook post by the owner's daughter, the Hobbymasters building has been purchased, and the plan is for it to be torn down. Any plans beyond that are unknown.
What you should know is that everything left at Hobbymasters is 25% off through Friday, February 21.
Thanks to the owners and staff of Hobbymasters for being a fixture in Monmouth County for all this time!
