Hollywood's Longest Lasting Relationship

Relationships are hard. Relationships in Hollywood are nearly impossible. So when we hear that the longest Hollywood relationship involves a New Jersey star, it's a pretty big deal.

As a matter of fact, there are two long time stars from New Jersey who are in some of the longest relationships on the Hollywood scene.

For example,The great Jon Bon Jovi and his amazing wife Dorothea tied the knot way back in 1989, making it a 32 year union, and that is awesome. Most tabloids don't consider the two a Hollywood couple, despite Jon's movie and TV work, but we think it should be acknowledged.

And then there's Michael Douglas, who married Catherine Zeta Jones back in 2000, putting 21 years under their belts. They have been through a lot, and they are truly beloved by their fans. Douglas was inducted into the New Jersey Hall of Fame in 2012.

But the New Jersey celebrity who takes the cake when it comes to long Hollywood relationships is the legendary Meryl Streep, who married her husband Don Gummer back in 1978, according to Stars Insider, making their relationship 43 years old.

Just to put that in perspective, Jimmy Carter was President when they tied the knot, and gas was $0.65 a gallon according to The State. And how about this one. When Meryl and Don were married, The Stone pony was only about 5 years old.

No, relationships aren't easy, but it is true that love stories don't only happen on the big screen. And apparently, New Jersey stars are pretty good at them. So congratulations to all those local celebs who beat the odds in Hollywood love.
