It took just a couple of simple things to have fun with my family.

I got an early birthday present that made sitting outside on a hot, humid day and night a pleasure!

I highly recommend you get a mesh tent to put over your table umbrella. It will change your outdoor experience.

Yes, there are mosquito coils and large bug zappers that can help protect your yard from pesky bugs, as well as secret formulas for spray oils for both your body and your landscaping...

...but this tent is my overall favorite thing.

It not only provides extra shade, but we comfortably fit 6 chairs inside it and we all felt so cozy, with the added bonus of being able to stay out there in the summer rain that fell on Saturday evening. It was SO AWESOME!

We also had the classic fun of having a fire pit, roasting marshmallows, and LEGALLY (lol) playing with sparklers : )
