Our adorable Point Pet of the Week is only a year old and comes with quite a list of attributes!

Hush Puppy is a terrier mix who came to the Monmouth County SPCA as a stray last August. It was soon determined that he is deaf and has lived in a foster home with several other dogs, one of which is an MCSPCA alumni that is also deaf.

Hush loves to play with other dogs. He is a sweet, loving, happy pup who deserves a family to call his own. He would love to have another dog to play with, but is happy being with just people, too.

Hush Puppy attends lots of adoption events and loves all the attention and a chance to show off some of the hand signals he is learning so he can communicate with his friends. He knows 'sit', 'paw', 'come', and is working on 'stay' and 'stop'. He is very food-motivated and attentive to a 'watch me' signal. He responds to gentle touch to get his attention.

Hush Puppy travels in a crate in the car and is crate-trained in the home with no accidents or destructive behavior. He will sleep through the night, not bothered by any outside sounds, walks politely through the neighborhood without responding to traffic or other noises. There can be advantages to living in a 'quiet' world!

Hush walks using an easy-walk harness. He walks and hikes with his foster family and plays and walks with his dog friends at the MCSPCA. He is well socialized and experienced with many other dogs.

This precious animal is friendly, playful, smart, and needs the love and care of his own family. He has so much more to learn and much joy to give.

Hush Puppy will be the featured guest at the Mini of Monmouth 'Find Your Next Best Friend' Outreach this Saturday, June 28th, 2014,  from 11 am - 3 pm at 2127 Rt. 35 in Eatontown. There will be adoptable cats and dogs, along with the Mid-Atlantic Bulldog Rescue. Mini of Monmouth (732-493-5055) will have food and drinks from Thai Food Truck, music, and giveaways in addition to the adorable adoptable animals.
