Jackson Pair found with stolen ice cream and cigarettes
A Jackson pair craving for a sundae, a smoke and some muscle have been arrested for stealing ice cream and cigarettes from the Quick Chek on Leesville Road.
Police also found Lawrence Mann, 34, and Shiabon Poff, 40, with a stolen purse, anabolic steroids, narcotics and drug paraphernalia.
On Monday, Jackson Police Officers responded to the Quick Chek store on Leesville Road on the report of two people who had reportedly shoplifted ice cream and other items from the store on the previous evening who were inside the store.
The officers made contact with the pair and identified them as being involved in the shoplifting report at the store on the previous evening.
They were also found to be in possession of several containers of ice cream and cigarettes that had not been paid for and were placed under arrest.
During the investigation, officers observed that Poff was in possession of a purse which appeared consistent with one reported stolen in a recent burglary to a motor vehicle and at this time, the subject’s car was impounded for further investigation.
Detectives then joined the investigation which led to searches of the seized vehicle and also a residence in town resulting in proceeds recovered from motor vehicle burglaries reported on Crescent Avenue on August 18, Freehold Road on August 17 and Brentwood Drive on August 1.
Mann was charged with shoplifting, receiving stolen property, possession of anabolic steroids, possession of hypodermic syringes, possession of CDS and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Poff was charged with shoplifting, burglary, theft, possession of hypodermic syringes, possession of CDS and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both were processed and transported to the Ocean County Jail.
