Jersey Shore Morning Update On Today’s Nor’easter
It's March nor'easter round two at the Jersey Shore today, and it's going to be a tough day and evening for most of us.
We asked our meteorologist Dan Zarrow for his very latest on what we can expect today, and here is what he has to say.
Snow totals. The latest update is calling for more snow than earlier estimates. Inland Monmouth and northern Ocean Counties could see over 6 inches of snow, while coastal Monmouth and most of Ocean County should see 3 to 6 inches.
Wind. Strong gusty winds could top 40mph along the coast and 30 mph inland, bringing the potential for additional power outages.
Timing. The worst of the storm should be with us this afternoon, with heavy snowfall, limited visibility and windy conditions. Snow showers taper off by midnight.
Warnings and Advisories. Winter Storm Warning for inland Monmouth until tomorrow morning. Winter Weather Advisory for coastal Monmouth County, and a Coastal Flood Advisory for the Shore with 1 to 2 feet of surge expected to cause widespread minor flooding.
