Attention Wine Drinkers: grab onto your closest wine glasses because I have an announcement you are not going to love.

The Jersey Shore Wine Festival that was scheduled to take place at FirstEnergy Park in Lakewood has been canceled for 2020. This year would have been the 10th annual event.

The festival was originally postponed until October but now with COVID-19 cases spiking, the event is being put off until 2021 for the safety of our residents.

“The uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and our inability to project the situation into October contributed to this decision,” said Sylvia Allen of Holmdel, event producer, in a news release. “While we can’t host the Jersey Shore Wine Festival this year, we are excited to partner with the BlueClaws and bring the event back, better than ever, in 2021.”

See? There is SOME good news.

The New Jersey Wine Festival is already planned to take place in 2021 to make up for this bogus year.

The 2021 date has not been decided yet but what we do know is that they are aiming for springtime.

IMPORTANT: If you purchased a ticket for this year's Jersey Shore Wine Festival, hold onto it because they will accept them.

So does this suck? YES.

But is your safety more important than wine? NO.....ok yes, it is. LOL. I know, I'm awful.

We'll get through this, folks. Just get through 2020 and hopefully all with COVID-19 is cleared up and all of our wine festivals can return in 2021.
