Join Liz Jeressi in NYC for Rock of Ages Friday Night
This is a dream come true, for sure!
If you have listened to our morning show for the past 17 years, then you know that my dream was always to be an actor in a Broadway show.
One of my favorite shows of all time was Rock of Ages, which lived on Broadway for several years. I got to see the musical several times and loved every minute of it.
I was sad to see it close....but then THRILLED to learn earlier this year that it has come back to NYC for a limited run. So of course I went to see it (twice already, lol!)...and then I got a very special call from the lead producer asking if I would like a walk-on role!
I am overcome with emotion at the idea of seeing the show through the eyes of the actors and musicians and to feel what it's like to walk out on that stage. I may just be the Bourbon Room Bartender, but it will be the coolest experience ever!
If you never had the opportunity to see Rock of Ages, or if you saw it back in the day but not in its current run, you are missing out on one of the best times you'll ever have. If you are a fan of the 80s and all of that big-hair rock music, you will be singing out loud to every song...and laughing hysterically, too, because this is a comedic musical that totally makes fun of itself and the cheesy 80s.
That said, the acting is amazing and some of the most beloved performers from the original version came back for this run, so you're still getting the great show that you remember.
Whether or not you happen to be able to make it Friday night while I check something off of my bucket list, you should really try to see Rock of Ages before this limited run comes to an end.
Rock of Ages is playing at New World Stages, 340 W. 50th St., NYC

And a big 'Thank You' is not nearly enough for Barry Habib. This man continues to transform lives. He is just one of the most amazing human beings I have ever had the honor of calling a friend. Barry has made many appearances on the Lou & Liz morning show and I hope to be able to share with you details about his latest project very soon! I love you, Barry.
P.S. This is not a show for young kids...it is a little on the raunchy side!
