Local Man to Run 100 Miles Through NJ for Charity
An Ocean County man is about to run 100 miles through NJ, all to raise money for a local charity!
And it's not the first time he's done it.
Rich McCleary, manager of the Applebee's in Manahawkin will start his journey at the Applebee's in Clifton at 8 a.m. on Saturday, and complete the run at his home restaurant around noon on Sunday, stopping along the way at the chain's locations in Middletown, Ocean, Howell, and Lacey.
It's all an effort to raise funds for Ocean of Love, the incredible Toms River-based charity that serves Ocean County children battling cancer, as well as their families.
McCleary has already raised more than $2500 for the cause, and is hoping to reach his goal of $8000 by this weekend. (To donate to this fundraiser, click HERE.) You can even make your donation at local Applebee's restaurants, or add the donation onto your dining bill. 100 percent of the funds raised will go to Ocean of Love.
McCleary and his crew at the restaurant have been doing fundraising events for this charity for the past 9 years.
This is certainly a unique way to bring awareness to a fabulous organization! Way to go, Rich, and best of luck this weekend!
