Look Up for a Pink Super Moon, Meteor Shower Over South Jersey This Month
If you love watching the sky you have a lot to look forward to in the next couple of months with three supermoons and one meteor shower taking place over the skies of South Jersey.
Get ready for the first meteor shower of the year which will take place in the early morning hours of April 22nd according to NJ.com. The Lyrid Meteor showers will be shooting over the skies in South Jersey.
The peak of the first major meteor shower of 2021 will happen April 21st into April 22nd. We can expect about 10-15 meteors per hour and the possibility of an awesome display of intense fireballs.
The main event for the month of April for astronomy lovers will be the full Pink Supermoon that will rise over the skies of South Jersey on April 26th. The Pink Supermoon will not be pink in color. The supermoon gets the nickname Pink because of its reference to the pink flowers that will soon bloom.
We can also look forward to more supermoons coming our way. The Super Flower Moon will shine on May 26th and June's Super Strawberry Moon will welcome in summer on June 26th.
