The morning update on the mid week weather at the Jersey Shore includes higher snow total accumulations.

Our meteorologist Dan Zarrow has been studying the data all night and morning long and his latest update includes the potential for 6 to 12 inches of accumulations for us here in Monmouth and Ocean Counties.

This is a two part storm, so let's break down the timeline for you according to Dan's latest update.

Part 1...Today. Periods of mixed precipitation. about an inch or so of slushy accumulation by the time you drive home today.

Part 2...Tomorrow.  This is where most of the impact will occur. The wintry mix will turn to all snow in the afternoon and all of Monmouth and Ocean Counties could see anywhere from 6 to 12 inches, except along the immediate coast.

More tomorrow info. It's not just the accumulations. The Wednesday part of this storm will also include wind gusts that could reach 50mph along the coast (and 40mph inland) and moderate coastal flooding is a real possibility.

Even more tomorrow info. Those high wind gusts and the heavy wet snow mean a good probability there will be power outages throughout Monmouth & Ocean Counties.

Dan will continue to monitor the very latest info and you can stay up to the minuter with the latest info by visiting his weather blog regularly over the next 36 hours.
