The up and down December temperatures continue at the Jersey Shore, and the next down may bring a messy Wednesday morning commute.

The latest update on the weather looks something like this according to our Chief Meteorologist Dan Zarrow. It's going to be a messy, slushy morning tomorrow away from the coast.

The rain tonight will actually switch to sleet and snow after midnight and that alone is enough to make it a slippery ride in the morning. Add to that the fact that an inch or two of slushy accumulation is possible away from the coast, and you have the recipe for a slick and slow commute.

The snow will end before lunch and we'll actually see the sun tomorrow with a high of only 37, and temperatures in the area will stay cold right through Thursday.

We all know that the driving around our area is sometimes below expert status, so when you combine the conditions with that, you have even more reason to be very careful tomorrow morning on your way to work.
