This morning's weather update has resulted in an upgrade in the amount of accumulation we may see at the Jersey Shore.

Here's what you need to know according to our meteorologist Dan Zarrow...

Accumulations. There is now a potential for for to 6+ inches of snow along the Jersey Shore, which is an upgrade, or a downgrade depending on how you look at it, from the 1 to 3 inches that was in the forecast yesterday.

Advisories etc.  There is a Winter Storm Warning in effect for Ocean County from 9:00pm tonight (Wednesday) to 7:00pm tomorrow (Thursday), and a Winter Storm Watch up for Monmouth County.

Timing. There will be snow showers starting tonight, but the heaviest of the snow will unfortunately be around the time of the morning commute. The snow will taper off by tomorrow evening.

Wind & Dangerous Cold. Winds will gust up to 40 mph tomorrow with a high 30, but by Friday and Saturday, temperatures will be only in the teens and the wind chill will be below zero.

Dan will keep us updated as more information becomes available throughout the day today, and you can stay up to date by checking in on Dan's Weather Blog.
