One thing is for sure. We love our booze here in the Garden State. We work hard and we play hard. We deserve our adult beverages. All of them. So what is the top liquor in the Garden State?

That is really an awesome question. It turns out you might be less surprised by what is the top liquor in the Garden State, and more surprised by what it isn't.

We think you probably first thought of wine. That was our first thought, too. But this is a hard liquor study, and wine wasn't included. If it was, that would mean that not one state had wine as their top drink, and that's just not possible.

With wine out of the way, what do you think New Jersey's top liquor is? Upgraded Points says it turns out that we buy more vodka than anything else. The people at Tito's thank us for that I'm sure.

We are certainly not alone in our love for vodka. The Garden State is one of 15 states that have vodka on the top of their list.

From Bloody Marys to Martinis, we'll be celebrating vodka all summer long at our favorite New Jersey watering hole, or even relaxing near our own pool or hot tub. We've earned it.

We still think that wine would beat vodka in a head-to-head battle here in the Garden State, but that is a contest for another day.

LOOK: Best Beers From Every State

To find the best beer in each state and Washington D.C., Stacker analyzed January 2020 data from BeerAdvocate, a website that gathers user scores for beer in real-time. BeerAdvocate makes its determinations by compiling consumer ratings for all 50 states and Washington D.C. and applying a weighted rank to each. The weighted rank pulls the beer toward the list's average based on the number of ratings it has and aims to allow lesser-known beers to increase in rank. Only beers with at least 10 rankings to be considered; we took it a step further to only include beers with at least 100 user rankings in our gallery. Keep reading to find out what the best beer is in each of the 50 states and Washington D.C.
