The Garden State is actually ranked 4th best states in America for police officers according to the research done by WalletHub. Here are some of the details of the recent  research.

Remember the states are ranked best to worst (Best being 1)...

Law Enforcement Per Capita...New Jersey is ranked 6th (law enforcement includes police officers, sheriff’s patrol officers, detectives and criminal investigators.

Median Income for Law-Enforcement Officers...The Garden State is ranked 2nd. These numbers are adjusted for cost of living.

State & Local Police-Protection Expenses per Capita...we are ranked tenth best state in this category.

Violent-Crime Rate...ours is ranked 6th best in the nation.

Opportunity & Competition...New Jersey is ranked second best in America, behind only D.C..

Job Hazards and Protection. The Garden State places 9th best in this category.

The state that is considered the best for police officers according to this study is Connecticut, with North Dakota second and New York third.
