Newark man faces seven years in prison for stabbing on Jenkinson’s Beach
A Newark man faces seven years in prison upon sentencing after pleading guilty to two counts of Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose after he stabbed two men on Jenkinson's Beach in Point Pleasant Beach last September, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer announced on Thursday.

18-year old Juwan Roman, who was 17 at the time, voluntarily waived jurisdiction of the family court, Billhimer said, and he agreed to be prosecuted as an adult.
Point Pleasant Beach Police responded to multiple 911 calls on September 7, 2020 around 3:30 pm for reports of a fight on Jenkinson’s Beach.
Police arrived to find Alex Galdamez, 22, and William Mazariego, 18, both of West Haverstraw, New York, suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Galdamez and Mazariego were taken to Jersey Shore Medical Center for treatment of their injuries following the stabbing attack.
The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit and Point Pleasant Beach Police teamed up with the on-scene investigation and learned that Roman was the one responsible for stabbing both Galdamez and Mazariego.
Roman was then arrested without incident at Jenkinson's Beach and has been in the Ocean County Juvenile Detention Center since his arrest.
Prosecutor Billhimer said that Chief Juvenile Assistant Prosecutor Anthony Pierro and Assistant Prosecutor Madeline Buczynski handled the case on behalf of the State.
