I do occasionally hit the local "fast food" restaurant, but not that often. Once in a while, you get a taste for some "fast food", whether it's a burger, fries, or a good old milkshake.

When it comes to Wendy's, my favorite is not the burger, but the chili. I do enjoy their chili and I also enjoy their version of the milkshake the "Frosty". What's different about their "Frosty" if you have never had one is how thick they are. You are more likely to need a spoon than a straw. The "Frosty" comes in chocolate and vanilla and yes I always go for the vanilla. This is all about to change.

According to a recent Food and Wine article, for the first time ever Wendy's will offer patrons a strawberry Frosty. The food chain has never had a strawberry version of the "Frosty". The Frosty has been on the menu at Wendy's for over 50 years but never a strawberry version.

"We're always listening to our fans and as the most-requested item, it was a no-brainer for us to bring the Strawberry Frosty to the menu this season," said Carl Loredo, chief marketing officer for The Wendy's Company.

According to the article, there is another fan favorite, with strawberries, coming back this summer "for a limited time, the chain is also bringing back its Summer Strawberry Chicken Salad featuring "sun-ripened, freshly sliced strawberries, crisp Applewood smoked bacon and juicy grilled chicken atop a bed of crispy lettuce and spring mix, [that] is topped off with an Italian cheese blend, candied almonds, and a sweet Champagne vinaigrette."

I will be honest I enjoy their Frosty and I will have to grab a strawberry Frosty this summer and enjoy it while they are here, no word if this will be a permanent menu item at Wendy's.

Do you enjoy Wendy's Frosty? Will you be trying the strawberry version? post your comments below.
