Ocean County Police setting up traffic detail on Routes 35&37 this weekend
If you're heading out and about this weekend, law enforcement in Ocean County want you to know they'll have a few extra sets of eyes on your driving.
Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer says that on Saturday a Traffic Enforcement Detail will take place between 5:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. along State Highway Route 35, between Seaside Park and Point Pleasant Beach and State Highway 37 between Seaside Heights and Manchester Township.
This detail encompasses eleven municipal jurisdictions.
Officers from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, Seaside Heights Police Department, Seaside Park Police Department, Berkeley Township Police Department, Toms River Police Department, Lavallette Police Department, Brick Township Police Department, Mantoloking Police Department, Bay Head Police Department, Point Pleasant Beach Police Department, Manchester Township Police Department, Lakehurst Police Department, New Jersey State Police and the New Jersey Department of Transportation will have extra patrols on the road looking for signs of impaired or erratic driving.
If you see someone you believe is posing a hazard because of poor driving behaviors, please dial #77 from a hands-free mobile device to contact the aggressive driver tip line and make a report.
If you do make that call, be prepared to give a description of the vehicle and occupants, a location and direction, and a license plate if possible.
