Last week we told you the heartbreaking story of a senior dog whose family moved but chose to leave her at a shelter.

Thousands shared the story of Sunny after we told you how the family from the only home she had ever known made the decision to move and leave her at the Monmouth County SPCA.

So many loving hearts reached out to find out if their home would be a good fit for Sunny, but then someone stepped forward who truly IS the perfect person to take her home.

It turns out that the grown children of the couple who took Sunny to the shelter hadn't been told that Sunny was brought to a shelter.  Once the blog was posted, someone alerted a daughter, who lives in Virginia. She then emailed the MCSPCA asking how Sunny was doing and giving the shelter caregivers details on Sunny's personality.

And then this past weekend, Sunny's 'human brother' (the grown son of the couple who had brought the dog to the shelter)  showed up at the MCSPCA and precious Sunny was so happy to see her long-lost buddy that she was all tail-wags and smiles. He had been traveling and came as soon as he could get home.

So now Sunny is happily at home with her human brother. It's great when family steps forward with open arms to save a life that never should have been given up.

And to all of our loyal listeners who continue to share our Point Pet of the Week to help get these incredible animals adopted, we salute you!
